Brian's Brigade - Chili Cook Off!

On February 22, 2019, "Brian's Brigade" hosted a Chili Cook Off to raise money for "Friends of St. Theresa School (FOSTS)." FOSTS is a non-profit organization that is solely focused on tuition assistance for families at St. Theresa School in Ashburn. The Knights of Columbus provided the beer and wine.

Knights on the Range

The St. Louis Martin Council of the Knights of Columbus hosted the 2nd Knights on the Range event at Silver Eagle Group Saturday January 26, 2019.   Twenty three council members and their guests enjoyed the shooting and fellowship. The shooting competition was close and led to a Shoot Off between Bob Sabasteanski (seen on the right) and Fred Vleck.  Bob won the shoot off, with both shooters using 1911 .45s.

The event was followed by a Chili Cook Off at Old OX Brewery for the benefit of Ashburn Volunteer Fire Department   Match Box Resturant in One Loudoun won the Judges Choice Award.  Executive Chef  Frank  Estremera at the National Conference Center crafted the Peoples Choice award winning chili

Sweats for Vets

This year’s Sweats for Vets collection was once again a great success, with the following items collected:

  • 450 sets of sweat suits

  • 475 pairs of athletic socks

  • $571 in donations 

The sweats, socks and cash donations were delivered to the Martinsburg VA Medical Center by the Knights of Columbus, VFW, and other participating organizations on Saturday 1/12/19.

Columbian Award

On Monday 1/7/19 the Columbian award was presented by the District Deputy to the St Louis Martin Council for having well rounded council programs. The award recognizes the Council's faith-filled family programs within the "Faith In Action " Program

Congratulations to “state champion” Sheila Suarez, from Saint Theresa’s parish, for winning the nine year old age group competitions at the regional (held in Alexandria, VA) and state level, With a score of 180 points!

Sheila received her trophy on December 16th, 2018, during breakfast with the Knights of Columbus, at Saint Theresa’s parish!
