Who this is for

 

Charity is the first principle of the Knights of Columbus, and this ministry is one way our brothers serve as Christ’s hands and feet in our community. We offer our time and skills to neighbors who are physically unable to take on a repair, or for whom hiring a professional is out of reach — because every person deserves a safe home that honors their dignity.

 

Whatever your circumstances, you are welcome to ask. In the spirit of Christ, who came not to be served but to serve, we would much rather hear your need than see it go unmet.

What we help with

 

Our Brother Knights help neighbors with small home repairs, inside and out—from minor plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting to flooring, drywall, gardening, and fence repairs. We review each request to ensure it fits our volunteers’ skills and capabilities.

 

Typical projects fall into six areas:

How it works

 

1Send the request

Fill out the home project request form. Describe the job and the best way to reach you.

 

2A Knight follows up

Someone from the council will contact you to understand the job and, where needed, arrange a time to come look at it.

 

3We schedule the visit

We agree on a date that works for you and bring the right brothers and tools for the job.​​

Our scope of work

 

We are volunteers, not licensed contractors. To keep everyone safe and properly covered, we generally cannot help with:

 

✕Work requiring a licensed contractor or county permit

✕Roofing, HVAC replacement, structural or foundation work.

✕Jobs involving heavy equipment or significant heights.

✕Emergency repairs—please contact a professional first.

Labor is free. Homeowners are asked to cover parts and materials.

There's a place for you on the crew

 

You do not need to be a tradesman. Many projects need an extra pair of hands, and experienced brothers are happy to teach along the way. Share your skills when you sign up so we can match you with suitable jobs.
